Job Title: Community Engagement Advocate
Hourly – Project Based
We are seeking dynamic and community-oriented individuals to join Barracuda Public Relations as part-time, and on-call, hourly contract employees. Community Engagement Advocates. As a Community Engagement Advocate, you will be responsible for supporting Barracuda PR’s community outreach and engagement efforts. You will play a key role in gathering input, creating connections with the community and collaborating with various organizations..
Who is Barracuda Public Relations?
Barracuda Public Relations is a local public relations agency that specializes in public engagement. We work with a large scope of clients such as local governments, agencies and organizations in different capacities.
Responsibilities:

Community engagement advocates will act as support in a variety of events such as the following:
- Pop-Up and Intercept Events: In-person events where we gather direct feedback from the public through surveys, questionnaires, etc.
- Neighborhood/Civic Group Meetings: Presenting information to attendees of regularly scheduled neighborhood and civic group meetings.
- Focus Group Recruitment: Helping identify and reach out to qualified individuals for focus groups.
- Public Meeting Support: Providing support to project teams during public meetings (meeting set-up, sign-in station, promotion).

Events may require different forms of engagement. For each event, advocates will be briefed and explained their duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
- Support in implementing comprehensive outreach strategies to engage a broad spectrum of community members.
- Participate in community events, workshops, pop-ups, and information sessions as needed.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, businesses, schools, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with local leaders and influencers to enhance community participation in events.
- Participate in discussions to gather feedback and gain community engagement.

Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Strong communication skills
- Bilingual (Preferred)
- Ability to work during weekends, week days or week nights
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Additional qualities or experiences that are preferred, but not required:
- Experience in community outreach and engagement
- Skilled in conducting data collection and surveys
- Familiarity with public meetings and event planning
- Awareness of local news and issues
