Founded in Austin, Texas, in 1982, Chuy’s serves authentic, affordable Tex-Mex fare made to order from fresh ingredients and in an atmosphere full of fun and attitude. Chuy’s has earned the reputation across Texas and throughout the Southeast for being the most fun and friendly spot to enjoy real Mexican food at a great price. Barracuda had the honor of working with Chuy’s on the opening of their El Paso location at The Fountains at Farah in July 2015.

Scope of Work

  • Identify public relations opportunities for Chuy’s to obtain steady media coverage
  • Work closely with Chuy’s marketing department to develop and execute PR strategies
  • Organized PR/media events around individual initiatives
  • Organized pre-opening community events to raise money for local charities and promote Chuy’s opening

  • Announced that Chuy’s will open its first location at Fountains at Farah

El Paso store celebrated the second largest opening week in Chuy’s history and second largest charity donation to Creative Kids at $8,336.39. Monies donated to Creative Kids were raised during Chuy’s pre-opening events that Barracuda PR coordinated.
