History

Barracuda opened its doors in 2010 to provide a megaphone for all the great things that are happening in El Paso, TX. We are proud to be Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certified, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) certified and Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) certified.

We are active players in making our city a better place to be and understand this town and its people. Because of this, we are able to develop public relations and social media strategies that resonate with our community.

Because we are a boutique agency, we are able to dedicate careful attention to our clients to meet their needs. We are excellent writers who tailor communication for web, print, television and social media.

Marina Monsisvais, Owner

Marina Monsisvais is the Owner of Barracuda PR and has over 12 years of experience working in public relations, including special event coordination and promotions. She’s built strong relationships throughout the El Paso/Juarez community that have proven to be a strong asset, as public relations is all about building relationships and providing content in a manner that is fresh and relevant. It’s through her confidence in her ability to produce effective public relations and social media strategies that she decided to strike out on her own to establish Barracuda PR in 2010.

Although Barracuda is a relatively young company, Marina is well established in the El Paso community as the go to public relations and social media professional. An excellent writer, Marina provides media outlets with clear, concise content that is readily adaptable or that makes it simple for reporters to use as a springboard to a larger story. Marina works with her clients to develop PR strategies that make sense for them and works with Alejandra Munoz to execute them. These duties include: social media set up and management, copywriting, press releases and media relations.

Alejandra “Alex” Munoz, Public Relations Specialist

Alejandra Munoz is the Public Relations Coordinator for Barracuda PR and has over six years of experience in working in public relations. Alejandra’s role is to execute Barracuda’s public relations and social media initiatives. Her excellent organizational skills allow Barracuda to function as effectively. Her clear communication skills, outgoing personality, along with her careful attention to detail, make Alex an integral part of Barracuda.

Alex’s Spanish communication and writing skills allow us to provide press releases and other collateral in Spanish without having to incur additional translation fees. Alex’s experience in healthcare public relations makes her an especially strong asset as it pertains to working with our healthcare clients.

Crysti Couture, Social Media Strategist

Crysti Couture is a social media strategist, trainer and speaker certified by the National Institute for Social Media. She has been actively immersed in social media since 2006, and in that time has helped businesses and non-profits of all sizes better connect with their customers and target audiences. Before joining the Barracuda team, she managed social media for El Paso’s tourism department, and wrote for a variety of local print and online publications such as Fusion Magazine and El Paso Times.

Ana Gaby Becerra, Graphic Design/PR

Ana Gaby has created sophisticated, engaging bilingual campaigns for high-profile clients including the El Paso Streetcar Project, Sun Cycle Bike Share, the City of El Paso’s Comprehensive Bike Plan, Tom Lea Month, Horizon City Economic Development Corporation and The Canyons at Cimarron.

Her design concepts are the cornerstone of Barracuda’s strategy to cohesively tell our clients’ stories across all platforms. As Barracuda’s Director of Design, Ana-Gaby oversees campaign implementation on social media, in print, direct mail, outdoor, and wherever else your story needs to be told.

Martin Bartlett, Public Relations Specialist

Martin Bartlett is an avid hiker, road-tripper, and lover of all things El Paso. His public relations career has focused on public works projects for local government agencies in El Paso. He’s well-practiced in creating and executing multiplatform communications strategies, public involvement plans and community engagement activities.

Before making the jump to public relations, Martin enjoyed a successful career in broadcast journalism covering state and local governments for television stations across Texas – including here in El Paso.
